Naseem International School’s Elementary School caters to students aged 3-11, spanning Nursery through Grade 5. With an intimate class size of no more than 24 students, each class is thoughtfully crafted to embody a mix of abilities, genders, and nationalities. The journey of my life has been deeply intertwined with the noble pursuit of education. The founding of Naseem International School 42 years ago was the embodiment of this passion, a testament to my unwavering belief in the transformative power of learning. The school’s evolution over the years has been a source of immense pride. From its humble beginnings, Naseem International School has blossomed into a beacon of academic excellence, earning the respect and accreditation of esteemed organizations. The pursuit of excellence remains constant, as evidenced by our recent BQA “OUTSTANDING” status and our N-12 accreditation of NEASC.

The school’s recognition as one of unique schools worldwide authorized to offer all four IB Programmes, and the only one in the Kingdom authorized to offer the PYP, MYP, DP, and CP, is a testament to our dedication to providing a world-class education. Our students have the freedom to choose from a diverse range of study courses, empowering them to chart their own academic paths and pursue their passions.

Beyond my role at Naseem International School, I have also been actively involved in the broader business community in Bahrain, holding leadership positions in various organizations. I am also a proud member of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of the Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society. These experiences have allowed me to contribute to the economic development of the Kingdom and empower women in the business world.

It is an immense privilege and pleasure for me to connect with the Naseem International School family. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team and an alumnus who graduated in the second IB Diploma Programme cohort in 1999, I am delighted to greet you and have the opportunity to share my NIS vision with you as NIS Vice President.

Our school has consistently advanced its educational programs, enhancing facilities and resources significantly. Our dedication to student success has established us as a respected IB World School, offering all four International Baccalaureate Programmes. We emphasize a curriculum that equips students with essential 21st-century skills. As a graduate, I have witnessed our progress and our commitment to the school’s vision and mission.

We are thrilled to possess a facility such as the Naseem Park as an innovative learning space. This exemplifies our focus on experiential learning, providing students with opportunities to explore and engage in a unique outdoor environment. The park is designed to inspire creativity and collaboration, offering a dynamic setting where students can immerse themselves in activities that enhance their educational experience.

Additionally, the NIS Pre-University Section, the new extension to our campus, reflects our meticulous attention to detail in design, creating an inspiring atmosphere conducive to learning at a school level and beyond. This state-of-the-art facility offers modern classrooms and collaborative spaces, ensuring that our students have access to the best possible environment for their academic and personal growth.

Empowering students is at the heart of our educational approach. My journey in education began in 1993 as a high school teacher, where I discovered my passion for empowering young minds. The experience inspired me to further my own education, specializing in English and Psychology, from the University of the Western Cape.

Naseem International School has been my home for more than 2 decades, where I’ve had the privilege of serving in various roles, including IB Diploma Coordinator, High School Principal, and now, Head of School. Each position has offered unique opportunities to contribute to the school’s growth and success. As the IB Diploma Coordinator, I was dedicated to ensuring the effective delivery of the IB Diploma Programme, providing support to both teachers and students. As High School Principal, I focused on creating a nurturing environment that fostered growth for everyone involved.

Currently, as the Head of School, I am committed to leading Naseem International School to new heights. I believe in a consultative management style and a focus on continuous improvement. My goal is to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching, maintain academic standards, and implement strategic plans that benefit the entire school community.

My dedication to education extends beyond the walls of Naseem International School. In recognition of my leadership abilities and commitment to professional growth, I have received prestigious accolades such as the Professional Development Award for Leadership and the Strategic Leadership SCQF from the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

As the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, I am thrilled to welcome you to another exciting academic year. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is designed to foster critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and a passion for lifelong learning. Our dedicated team is committed to guiding our students through this rigorous and rewarding journey.

This year, we will continue to emphasize the IB learner profile attributes, encouraging our students to be inquirers, knowledgeable, and open-minded. We believe that by nurturing these qualities, we prepare our students not only for academic success but also for meaningful contributions to our global community.

I have been in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, since last 19 years, from 2003 to During this time, I have held various positions as an IB teacher, IB examiner, Extended Essay Coordinator, and IB Diploma Programme Coordinator. Additionally, I have been in the role of evaluation team leader for the IB world school re-authorization process. My educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Science, a Master’s Degree in IB Education, and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Baccalaureate Education. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Education. In 2021, I was privileged to receive the IB Educator certificate from the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Together, we can uphold the tradition of fostering the growth and academic success of IB students, which the dedicated staff and students at NIS have achieved in the past and continue to progress well into the future.

Accreditation Coordinator

accreditation coordinator's Message

Being part of the NIS leadership team since September 2021 has provided me with the most rewarding professional experience. I served as Middle and High School Asst. Principal during my first year and am working as NIS Accreditation Lead since September 2022. During this time I worked towards the school securing an “Outstanding” rating in BQA in November 2022. I have also led the school’s CIS/MSA accreditation visit in April 2023. The school was granted CIS accreditation in May 2023. In December, 2023 I led the school in securing NEASC accreditation. We are the first and till date only k-12 fully NEASC accredited school in the kingdom of Bahrain.

NIS is also partner with ECIS which provides us with opportunities to be part of the best international professional development online venue in the fields ranging from Child Protection to Teaching and Learning. 

Some of my areas of expertise are international school accreditations and quality control, teaching and learning development, leadership development and school wellbeing development. I have completed CIS, MSA and NEASC international evaluators training and serve as international volunteer accreditor as and when required from these international agencies.

I also have vast experience in strategic planning and follow up. My role as school Accreditation Leader requires quality assurance in areas of teaching and learning, students’ personal development, community wellbeing and leadership development. I plan, arrange and conduct training and workshops in these areas along with other leadership team members including Teaching and Achievement Leader in the school.

 

Before joining Naseem International School, I worked in leadership roles in the Kingdom of Bahrain since 2014. After serving as High School teacher briefly from 2001-2003, I have served in school leadership roles since 2004 i.e. Vice Principal and Headmistress in Pakistan and Bahrain.

 

I have my Masters degree in English Language and Literature. I secured Bachelors in Education after completing my Bachelors in Sciences (Chemistry, Botany Majors). I have also completed a Diploma in TEFL and am currently in the process of completing my Masters in TEFL.

 

Having an interest in book reading and writing, I believe in continuous growth, lifelong learning and bearing international mindedness. I was part of Toastmasters International Organization from 2016 till 2022 serving various leadership roles.

 

I am a proud member of the NIS family. The institutional motto of “students first” deeply aligns with my personal values of service and integrity. I believe that the growth opportunities at NIS are benefiting not only students but staff and faculty alike. The school is touching new heights of excellence with ever expanding campus facilities and international accreditations are a great way to keep on the path of growth.

Learning and Achievement Leader's Message

I completed my studies at the North-West University in Potchefstroom, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Languages, an Honors Degree, a Master’s Degree, and a Higher Education Diploma.

While studying at NWU, I began my teaching career and later taught at the University of Namibia (UNAM) for a few years. Subsequently, I joined DHPS – deutsche höhere privatschule windhoek before becoming a part of NIS in 2003. Initially, I served as a Middle School English and Humanities teacher at NIS, and later transitioned to the Elementary School as a teacher. I then took on leadership roles within the KG ES Leadership Team, serving as a coordinator, Assistant Principal, and finally Principal. This year, I have joined the Senior Management Team (SMT) as the Learning & Achievement Leader for the entire school.

Throughout my 21 years at Naseem International School, I have witnessed remarkable changes and growth, not only in the physical infrastructure but also in our approaches and methodologies. This continuous evolution fills me with immense pride. I firmly believe that through our ongoing self-reflection, accreditations, and authorizations, we will sustain this trajectory of progress and development for future generations of NIS. It is truly gratifying to see former students now enrolling their own children at our school.

With the newly established position of Learning & Achievement Leader, I hope that our school community will collaborate effectively to enhance student attainment and well-being. Together, we can provide high-quality learning experiences that effectively prepare our students for their future lives.

I have a Bachelor of Education Degree, obtained through Edgewood College of Education in South Africa. Prior to relocating to Bahrain, I was an Assistant Principal of an Elementary School and then the Principal of a Kindergarten School. As a lifelong learner, I am passionate about fostering a student-centered learning environment. I firmly believe that education should be a joyful, safe, stimulating, and engaging experience for every student. By placing the students at the heart of their learning journey, we empower them to actively discover, explore, and acquire knowledge and skills. Our goal is to nurture their curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking abilities, allowing them to become independent and lifelong learners

I have been a part of the ever-growing International Baccalaureate that provides an education which is beneficial and apt for the people of this world.

As an educator, I have accumulated over 27 years of experience and I am constantly learning. Specifically, I have served as an IB PYP Coordinator and a leader in pedagogy for 17 years. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Education from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK, and I have obtained an IB Educator certificate. Additionally, I am a Programme leader with the IB Educator Network (IBEN), where I evaluate IB PYP schools. My main strengths lie in my passion for the IB PYP and its benefits for young learners in this era. I am also skilled at working collaboratively within a team, supporting the school community in preparing for IB evaluations. Being a team player enables me to engage comfortably with all members of the school community and contribute to its growth.

I am extremely thrilled to be a part of Naseem International School which is an established institution comprised of strong and compassionate educators. I am looking forward to sharing my expertise and collaborating with the NIS team to enhance the skills and competence ensuring excellent academic results and upliftment of the school. I firmly believe that analyzing student progress is crucial in order to identify explicit needs and to develop action plans to improve teaching strategies and enhance learning outcomes.

MYP Coordinator's Message

I am delighted to introduce myself to you as the MYP Coordinator at NIS.  Having been in this leadership role for the past 7 years, I know how important my job is in terms of the pedagogical and the operational aspects. I have been fascinated by the ethos of International Education for the past 15 years and it created meaning to my career when I started my IB journey back in 2007.

It is a privilege for me to work with our students, our staff and our families to make our school the very best it can be. As a member of the pedagogical and leadership team at NIS, my aim is to take on board and work on the overarching responsibilities for ensuring that the teaching and learning will be enriched in line with the philosophical and implementation requirements of the Middle Years Programme. My role is pivotal in the collaborative planning process. By taking this responsibility, my role also ensures that pedagogical aspects are discussed, information is disseminated and the programme is planned, taught and assessed collaboratively.

I have been part of NIS for more than 14 years of my overall experience in different contexts; I have served the International Baccalaureate in many different roles since 2010 including, but not limited to, being:

 

  • Internal MYP Workshop Leader: training and supporting teachers to use the best ways to implement MYP.
  • Personal Project Coordinator: Developed our own unique NIS platforms and structure to support our students for a successful completion of the personal project in year 5 of the programme.
  • Content Developer and Curriculum Contributor: developing resources, actively engaging and leading curriculum development and review process as the head of both the English and Individuals and Societies departments for more than 6 years.
  • Coordinate and oversee the administration of IB assessments, including internal and external examinations.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of assessment processes and results.
  • Ensuring that the planning and teaching of the IB Learner Profile (LP) and of Approaches to Learning Skills (ATL skills) show a coherent development from Grade 6 to Grade 10.
  • Acting as the liaison between the school and the IB with regards to the MYP consultation/authorization process and ongoing administration needs.

There are many new and exciting things on the horizon for the year ahead as I am extremely passionate about Curriculum, Teacher Training, and Personal Project. I look forward to interacting with you in our future parent events.

As the Career Counselor at Naseem International School, Ms. Rana is dedicated to helping our students navigate their unique educational journeys and prepare for their future careers. With extensive expertise in UCAS and Common App processes, she provides tailored support that empowers students to make informed decisions about their higher education paths. Ms. Rana organizes university fairs that bring renowned global institutions to our school, allowing students to engage directly with representatives and gain valuable insights to inform their choices. Through workshops, one-on-one counseling sessions, and resources covering everything from university applications to scholarship opportunities, she ensures our students are well-equipped to pursue their aspirations.

In her role as Model United Nations (MUN) Director, Ms. Rana leads a dynamic program that immerses students in the art of diplomacy and global issues. She facilitates engaging training sessions, mentors participants, and coordinates our involvement in prestigious MUN conferences. This experience not only hones their public speaking and negotiation skills but also fosters a deep understanding of international relations and critical thinking.

In addition to her counseling and MUN responsibilities, Ms. Rana serves as the legal advisor for the school, providing guidance on a range of legal matters to ensure compliance and support the institution’s mission.

Ms. Rana specializes in international law systems and societies from City University of London, as well as a background in law and politics from the University of Manchester. She draws upon her academic experience to inspire and guide our students at Naseem International School, nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.
